A new American Research Group poll shows Mike Huckabee has moved into second place among likely Republican caucus goers. Huckabee came in second to Mitt Romney. This is good news considering Mike Huckabee's numbers had been in the single digits for months! Another interesting fact about the poll shows Huckabee pulling in 19% of Republican voters and 17% of Independents. Again, only Romney's numbers were stronger.
This poll is encouraging for Huckabee's campaign. On the other hand, it has to be discouraging news for other candidates.
The Iowa caucus has been likened to a weather vane in presidential elections. It will be very interesting to see what the voters have to say there on January 3, 2008.
